Pearl Izumi |
The new Pearl Izumi headquarters building incorporates two previous facilities. The front half is corporate offices and conference rooms where the business of a company that size takes place and the back end is a large warehouse where product is shipped to dealers world wide. The middle, however, is where the interesting area is.
Pearl Izumi does all of their Research and Development first hand...meaning in that middle area is a small manufacturing group where product is designed and made to fit the test riders. As it so happens most of Pearl Izumi's employees fit the test rider role quite well. Each day, around lunchtime a fleet of athletes would depart for 'testing' and return to work all smiles an hour (or so) later.
There is a full workout facility as well, for when the Colorado weather is less than accommodating. We installed full shower facilities next to the indoors bicycle parking area, to make the rest of the work day easier to bear. The Architect on this project was Lewis Himes Associates out of Littleton Colorado. |
